Choosing Ceramic, or not?
Window tint is one of those modifications that seems straightforward and enhances your vehicle's appearance. But what if you're looking for something that elevates your car's class while keeping the heat at bay? Now, you’re faced with the choice between carbon tint and ceramic. One utilizes newer technology, while the other is more budget-friendly. Both options promise cooler interiors and reduced glare, but which one truly delivers?
At the core, the effectiveness of each material in dealing with infrared radiation determines how well they keep your car cool. While visible light impacts the brightness inside, it’s infrared that makes your seatbelt buckle feel like a hot branding iron. Carbon tint absorbs heat and blocks some infrared rays, being effective to a certain extent. On the other hand, ceramic tint employs non-metallic nanoparticles to reflect and reject a greater percentage of infrared heat before it enters your cabin. Typically, carbon films block around 60% of heat, whereas ceramic can achieve up to 95% – a significant improvement.
